Bihar Public Service Commission, Patna has released the exam pattern and syllabus of Bihar Teacher Recruitment Examination on its website.

Under the Bihar State School Teacher (Appointment, Transfer, Disciplinary Action and Service Conditions) Rules, 2023, for appointment to the post of “Teacher” in Primary School, Secondary School and Higher Secondary Schools, the Paper, Subject, No. of Question, Duration and Total marks for Written Examination (objective type) will be as follows:-

For all Teachers: Primary to Higher Secondary School (compulsory)

02 Hours1. For all Teachers: Primary to Higher Secondary School.
2. It Consists of 02 parts, Part-I and Part-II.
3. Part-I – English language which is compulsory for all.
4. Part-II-Hindi language / Urdu language / Bengali language. Candidate has to opt any one of the three languages.
5.Candidate has to obtain minimum 30 percent marks in this paper.

For Primary School Teachers

3. Part-I is a Subject paper. Candidate has to opt Any One of the papers:- Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Maithili, Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Arabic, Persian, English, Science, Mathematics & Social Science.
4. The questions of subject paper will be related to the syllabus of the Secondary School but its standard according to the prescribed minimum qualification of the candidate.
5. Part-II is General Studies. It consists of Elementary Mathematics, General Awareness, General Science, Indian National Movements and Geography. The Questions of General Studies will be related to the syllabus of the Secondary School but its standard according to the prescribed minimum qualification of the candidate.

For Higher Secondary School Teachers.

Candidate has to opt Any One of the papers:- Hindi, Urdu, English, Sanskrit, Bengali, Maithili, Magahi, Arabic, Persian, Bhojpuri, Pali, Prakrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Home Science, Computer Science, Commerce Accountancy, Music & Entrepreneurship.
4. The questions of subject paper will be related to the syllabus of the Higher Secondary School but its standard according to the prescribed minimum qualification of the candidate.
5. Part-II is General Studies. It consists of Elementary Mathematics, General Awareness, General Science, Indian National Movements and Geography. The Questions of General Studies will be related to the syllabus of the Higher Secondary School but its standard according to the prescribed minimum qualification of the candidate.

Note- Questions will be of Objective and Multiple Choice Type. For every wrong answer marks will be deducted as penalty.

Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Bihar’s Resolution No. – 2374, dated 16.07.2007 and General Administration Department, Bihar’s Resolution Memorandum – 962, dated 22.01.2021 for merit determination in the above examinations 40% for the general category from the backward classes 36.5% for OBC, 34% for Extremely Backward Classes and 32% for SC/ST, Women and Disabled (Divyang) candidates, it will be mandatory to obtain the prescribed minimum qualifying marks, otherwise they will be out of the competitive examination.
